President Donald Trump announced Saturday that India and Pakistan have agreed to a “full and immediate ceasefire” following a night of U.S.-brokered negotiations.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote:

“After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE. Congratulations to both Countries on using Common Sense and Great Intelligence. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Details of the agreement were not immediately released, and officials from India and Pakistan have yet to issue public statements. The development comes amid rising regional tensions and follows weeks of diplomatic efforts reportedly led by senior members of the Trump administration.

The announcement marks a rare moment of public diplomacy between the nuclear-armed neighbors, whose relations have often been strained by territorial disputes and cross-border violence.
