The Trump administration is eliminating federal Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs, with employees placed on paid leave by 5 p.m. Wednesday. Agencies must dismantle DEI initiatives, remove related materials, and prepare workforce reduction plans by Jan. 31, according to a memo from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).

The Justice Department has 120 days to recommend suspending DEI efforts in private and federally funded educational institutions. Similar rollbacks have occurred in companies like Walmart and Facebook amid conservative criticism. However, teachers at colleges and universities remain free to advocate for DEI programs.
