The U.S. has paused intelligence sharing with Ukraine, cutting off a vital flow of information that has helped Kyiv counter Russian military operations. The move follows President Trump’s suspension of military aid and underscores his shift in U.S. foreign policy toward Ukraine.

National security adviser Mike Waltz said Wednesday the administration is reviewing all aspects of the relationship, suggesting the suspension may be temporary. CIA Director John Ratcliffe described the pause as a way to pressure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky into engaging in peace negotiations on Trump’s terms.

“If we can move toward these negotiations and put some confidence-building measures on the table, the president will take a hard look at lifting this pause,” Waltz told Fox News.

It remains unclear whether the suspension affects intelligence-sharing partnerships with U.K., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s spokesman declined to confirm if the U.K. is still receiving U.S. intelligence on Ukraine.
