Russell Warren, 49, from Prudenville, Michigan, was charged with making threats to assassinate President Biden, Vice President Harris, and other high-ranking government officials. The threats were posted on a social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), where Warren also targeted journalists, celebrities, former Trump administration cabinet members, all 2024 presidential candidates, and various politicians.

His X account, which remained public as of Monday, contained hundreds of posts from Friday and Saturday. These posts detailed his plan named “Operation Vengeance” and included threats against a wide array of individuals and locations, such as Smithsonian museums, Air Force One, Disney theme parks, One World Trade Center, and Mount Rushmore. Warren referred to himself as “a lamb of god” in his posts.

Warren’s identification and subsequent arrest on Monday by the U.S. Secret Service were facilitated through his IP address. His criminal history includes a prior arrest in 2022 for assault with a deadly weapon. The current charges against Warren for threatening the president and other officials could lead to a maximum prison sentence of five years. He is set for his next court appearance on Friday.
