WASHINGTON, D.C. — Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro harshly criticized Tucker Carlson on Monday for his interview with far-right activist Nick Fuentes, accusing Carlson of promoting “abhorrent views” that should have no place within the conservative movement.
During his Daily Wire program, Shapiro called Carlson an “intellectual coward” and a “super spreader of vile ideas.” He condemned Fuentes’ record of Holocaust denial and racist remarks, saying Carlson “acts as an ideological launderer” who softens extremist rhetoric for wider audiences.
Shapiro also cited Carlson’s previous interviews with Russian President Vladimir Putin and comments about Christian Zionists as part of a broader pattern of “dishonest” engagement. “It is not cancellation to draw moral lines between viewpoints,” Shapiro said, stressing he supports both men’s right to speak but rejects their ideas.
The feud comes amid growing division within the MAGA movement over how far-right voices are influencing conservative politics.
Shapiro and Carlson have clashed before, notably over Israel’s war policy. Monday’s episode marked one of Shapiro’s sharpest rebukes yet, warning that embracing figures like Fuentes would lead to “moral oblivion” and “defeat for the right.”
