Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) criticized the Secret Service and FBI, accusing them of “dragging their feet” and obstructing the Senate bipartisan investigation into the attempted assassination of former President Trump. On Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” Johnson said that despite some transcribed interviews, the agencies have provided heavily redacted documents and delayed their delivery until the day of the interviews.
Johnson, part of the Senate investigation into the shooting at Trump’s rally last month, where a bullet grazed the former president’s ear, expressed frustration with the lack of cooperation from the agencies. He claimed that the Secret Service and FBI are withholding critical information, stating, “They’re in total control” of what Congress receives.
The Secret Service responded, saying it has supplied over 1,000 pages of documents and made employees available for interviews, while the FBI denied any interference, asserting that it is cooperating fully and following standard procedures in the ongoing investigation.
