The Kremlin stated that President Trump’s foreign policy “largely aligns” with Russia’s vision. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said the Trump administration is reshaping global foreign policy, which Moscow sees as a positive development.

The comments come after Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met to sign a rare earth minerals deal, aimed at ending the Russia-Ukraine war. However, the meeting devolved into a shouting match between Zelensky, Trump, and Vice President J.D. Vance, intensifying tensions over Ukraine’s handling of the conflict.

Peskov expressed optimism about improved U.S.-Russia relations under Trump, despite past sanctions imposed during the Biden administration. He also criticized Zelensky, claiming the Ukrainian leader “does not want peace.”
