Republicans have surpassed the 218-member threshold needed to secure a majority in the House, clinching control of the House, Senate, and White House. Democrat Kirsten Engel’s concession to Rep. Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ) on Wednesday confirmed the GOP’s majority, though the Associated Press had not officially called the House outcome by 2:40 p.m. Eastern.

Twelve House races remain undecided, with the final outcomes determining the extent of the GOP’s margin. Out of 435 total seats, only 43 races were highly competitive, with 22 labeled as decisive toss-ups. Republicans and Democrats each won seven of those 22 seats.

Significant GOP wins included Michigan’s 7th Congressional District, where Republican Tom Barrett defeated Democrat Curtis Hertel, and Pennsylvania’s district victories over Democratic incumbents, including Rep. Susan Wild and Rep. Matt Cartwright. Meanwhile, Democrats managed to retain seats in New York, Texas, and Florida, preventing a more substantial GOP majority.
