In response to a recent Supreme Court ruling allowing the Biden administration to remove razor wire barriers along the U.S.-Mexico border, Rep. Mike Collins (R-Ga.) is introducing the Restricting Administration Zealots from Obliging Raiders (RAZOR) Act. This legislation aims to prevent the federal government from dismantling border barriers constructed by Texas or any other state.

Collins criticizes President Biden’s border policies, accusing him of facilitating illegal immigration and compromising the nation’s resources. He supports Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s efforts to maintain state sovereignty and national security through these barriers.

The Biden administration has been contesting Texas’ authority to build barriers along its border. This dispute peaked when the Texas National Guard and Department of Public Safety erected fences and razor wire in Eagle Pass, Texas, hindering Border Patrol access. The Supreme Court’s decision favored the federal government’s stance, marking a setback for Texas.

Border Patrol agents allege that the Texas National Guard barred them from entering the area for a rescue operation, a claim Texas officials have refuted.
