Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy plans to urge Republicans to move away from aggressive partisanship and “owning the libs” in a Tuesday speech at Montana State University, hosted by Turning Point USA. The event marks a tonal shift from many conservatives who, after activist Charlie Kirk’s assassination, have called for stronger crackdowns on what they describe as left-wing violence.

According to prepared remarks obtained by Axios, Ramaswamy will say the conservative movement faces “a fork in the road,” urging members to replace hostility with persuasion. “We can still stand for truth while viewing those who believe falsehoods not as enemies but as fellow citizens who must be shown the light,” he will say.

Ramaswamy, a former presidential candidate and Trump ally, will also criticize censorship, saying free speech should apply “whether you’re Nick Fuentes or Alex Jones or Jimmy Kimmel.”

He joins Sens. Ted Cruz and Rand Paul in condemning FCC Chair Brendan Carr for threatening ABC after Kimmel’s comments about Kirk’s alleged shooter.
