Far-right Proud Boys chapters are preparing for Election Day in response to Donald Trump’s intensified warnings of potential fraud. Known for their involvement in the Jan. 6 Capitol attack, the group remains active, especially on Telegram, where members spread pro-Trump content and discuss alleged voter fraud, according to Advance Democracy. In Ohio, two chapters claim they have members working as poll watchers, expressing distrust in regular citizens for the task. Posts included warnings about “treasonous voter fraud” and inflammatory language.
While no explicit calls to interfere with voting have been made, Proud Boys members continue to surface at right-wing events. Trump, meanwhile, escalates rhetoric against Democrats and the media, including hypothetical scenarios of violence, as federal authorities remain limited in countering domestic misinformation.
