A CBS News/YouGov poll found that only 4% of Americans back Russia in its war against Ukraine, while 52% support Ukraine and 44% say they back neither side.

The poll, conducted Feb. 26-28, ended the same day as President Donald Trump’s heated Oval Office meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, where the two leaders clashed over U.S. support for Ukraine. Following the meeting, Trump stated that Zelensky “is not ready for peace” if America is involved.

Trump has been pushing for a negotiated end to the war, with U.S. and Russian officials meeting in Saudi Arabia last month. However, his stance has faced backlash from Democrats, with Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) calling the White House meeting “an utter embarrassment for America.”

On the issue of U.S. military aid to Ukraine, the country is evenly split, with 51% supporting continued aid and 49% opposing it, highlighting deep divisions over America’s role in the conflict.
