Authorities confirmed that Luigi Mangione, accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, had no ties to the company. NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny stated there is no record of Mangione being insured by UnitedHealth, though he referenced its corporate dominance in a statement.

Thompson was shot outside a New York hotel, with forensic evidence and surveillance linking Mangione to the crime. Mangione has pleaded not guilty, claiming he was framed.
