Former Vice President Mike Pence’s policy group, Advancing American Freedom (AAF), is ramping up efforts to block Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s nomination for Health and Human Services (HHS) secretary with a new ad campaign ahead of a key Senate committee vote.
The six-figure ad buy, airing on Fox News, features past remarks from President Trump calling Kennedy a “Democrat plant” and a “radical left Democrat.” The ad urges Republicans to reject Kennedy’s nomination, citing his past support for abortion rights and vaccine skepticism.
Kennedy, nominated by Trump, faces a tough confirmation battle as the Senate Finance Committee prepares to vote. Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA), a swing vote, remains undecided. Despite Kennedy’s recent anti-abortion remarks, AAF argues his hearing “raised more questions” about his suitability for the role.
