North Carolina’s elections board refused to remove Robert F. Kennedy Jr. from the state’s presidential ballot, despite his request following the suspension of his campaign and endorsement of Donald Trump. The board’s three Democratic members rejected the request from the We The People party, which nominated Kennedy, citing the impracticality of making changes so close to the election.
With absentee ballots already printed and distributed in some counties, the board determined reprinting would be costly and time-consuming. The two Republican members on the board argued that there was still time to remove Kennedy, but the majority disagreed, calling the decision “the fairest outcome under these circumstances.”
