The centrist political group No Labels has announced it will no longer pursue a third-party candidate for the 2024 U.S. presidential election. The group stated that it could not identify candidates with a credible path to winning the White House, leading to the decision to end their effort to put forth a ‘Unity’ ticket.
This announcement comes as President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump secure their respective party nominations. No Labels expressed concern about the division and strife gripping the country, vowing to champion and defend the values and interests of America’s commonsense majority post-election.
Despite gaining ballot access in 21 states and sparking national conversation about a viable third-party candidate, No Labels was unable to field presidential candidates for their ‘unity ticket’. This effort had led to speculation about a potential political ticket featuring Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin and former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman.
Former Democratic member of Congress and No Labels member, Joe Cunningham, highlighted the desire of two-thirds of Americans for other options beyond a rematch.
