Demonstrators across the U.S. marked Presidents Day with protests against President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, who has been appointed to oversee government downsizing efforts. Organized by the 50501 Movement, the protests took place in Washington, D.C., and other major cities, denouncing executive overreach and mass firings of federal workers.

Thousands gathered near the U.S. Capitol, chanting “Where is Congress?” and holding signs reading “No one elected Elon Musk.” In Boston, nearly 1,000 protesters braved freezing temperatures, while demonstrators in Texas, California, and other states rallied against Musk’s influence in federal governance.

The protests follow Trump’s executive orders expanding Musk’s role at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which has led to widespread layoffs. Critics warn of conflicts of interest and threats to constitutional rights. Organizers vowed continued demonstrations, citing concerns over data privacy, federal agency cuts, and Musk’s growing political influence.
