A nationwide protest against President Donald Trump is set for Saturday, April 5, marking the largest coordinated anti-Trump demonstration since he began his second term.
Organized by the “Hands Off!” movement, over 1,100 events — including rallies, meetings, and visibility actions — are scheduled in all 50 states, with a concentration on the East Coast. Organizers report nearly 250,000 RSVPs as of March 29.
The movement partners with labor and advocacy groups including the United Auto Workers, AFL-CIO, Human Rights Campaign, MoveOn, and Planned Parenthood. The campaign criticizes Trump and tech entrepreneur Elon Musk for “taking everything they can get their hands on.”
A flagship rally at the Washington Monument is slated for noon, with AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler expected to speak. Other events are planned abroad in France, Canada, and Portugal.
Organizers emphasize a commitment to nonviolent action and have asked participants to avoid confrontation. The protest follows previous actions like the “Tesla Takedown Global Day of Action” targeting Musk.
