Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, 84, sustained an injury during a Congressional trip to Luxembourg commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge. Pelosi was hospitalized for evaluation but is receiving “excellent treatment” and continues her work, according to spokesperson Ian Krager.
Pelosi stepped down as Speaker in 2023 but remains an active member of Congress. Reelected in November, she will serve another two-year term starting January 3. Pelosi’s decades-long career includes passing major legislation, such as President Biden’s $1 trillion infrastructure bill, and her high-profile conflicts with former President Donald Trump, including her dramatic tearing of his 2020 State of the Union speech.
Pelosi, a historic figure as the first female Speaker of the House, served in leadership across seven presidential administrations.
