Washington, D.C. — Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk was among the high-profile figures attending President Trump’s black-tie dinner honoring Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the White House on Tuesday, according to a press list obtained by The Hill. Musk was seated in the East Room alongside political leaders, administration officials, and global business executives.
Vice President JD Vance and second lady Usha Vance were in attendance, as were Apple CEO Tim Cook, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller. International guests also joined the event, including Portuguese soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, whom Trump acknowledged during his remarks, noting that his son Barron had previously met the athlete.
The event’s guest list reflects the administration’s effort to present one of its most elaborate foreign-leader welcomes this year. First lady Melania Trump, Speaker Mike Johnson, and other senior officials rounded out the group as the administration highlighted its relationship with Saudi leadership.
Musk’s appearance drew particular attention given his well-publicized clash with Trump earlier this year over the administration’s reconciliation bill, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. Despite a period of tense exchanges between the two, they were seen sitting together at conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s funeral in September, signaling a potential easing of tensions.
The dinner also unfolded against the backdrop of continued criticism of Saudi Arabia’s human rights record, including the U.S. intelligence finding that Crown Prince Mohammed ordered the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Earlier in the day, Trump welcomed the crown prince during a South Lawn ceremony featuring military displays and a flyover.
