WASHINGTON, D.C. — More than 20 companies across multiple industries are suing the Trump administration, arguing that the president’s sweeping “reciprocal” tariffs were imposed unlawfully under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). While Costco has already drawn national attention for seeking tariff refunds, a wide range of manufacturers, automakers, food suppliers and technology firms have mounted similar legal challenges now pending in the U.S. Court of International Trade.

Among the most prominent cases are those filed by Toyota Tsusho America, Toyota Tsusho Canada, and Toyota Tsusho Nexty Electronics America, which argue that Trump’s emergency tariff authority does not extend to rewriting trade policy. Auto-adjacent companies — Yokohama Tire Corporation, AGS Company Automotive Solutions, Kawasaki Motors, NGK Automotive Ceramics and Dana Automotive Systems — say the tariffs have severely disrupted imports of vehicles, steel and aluminum.

Consumer-facing manufacturers are also pushing back. Revlon is seeking reimbursement before its tariff-liability window closes, arguing the administration has no authority to impose duties rooted in long-standing trade disputes with China.

Seafood supplier Bumble Bee Foods says the tariffs unexpectedly crippled its global sourcing network, affecting imports from Brazil, Ecuador, Panama, Mexico, Indonesia, China and India. Another food company, Netuno, argues that Trump’s national emergency declarations do not meet the statutory requirement of an “unusual and extraordinary threat.”

Additional lawsuits have been filed by Goody Foods, Del Monte Fresh Produce, Engineered Plastic, Metform, MacLean Mallard, Moog, Hydro Gear, iFit, LONGi Solar Technology, Berlin Packaging, Industrial Tech Services, Schnitzer Steel, Chromalloy, Consolidated Foam, Ushio America, Illuminate USA, Valeo North America and Argonaut Manufacturing Services.
