Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Friday introduced three impeachment resolutions against President Joe Biden that have little chance of advancing, the latest stunt in the Georgia congresswoman’s short, controversial political career.
The resolutions are unlikely to go to the floor for a vote – much less pass in the Democrat-controlled House – as Greene represents the right-wing fringe of her conference and even her GOP colleagues often dismiss or repudiate her tactics.
Greene, in a statement announcing the resolutions, denounced Biden in extreme terms, labeling him a “pseudo dictator,” accusing him of “shredding the Constitution” and declaring the government “illegitimate” because it is “no longer serving its citizens.”
As with many of Greene’s maneuvers, the resolutions seem primarily aimed at boosting her fundraising numbers, with her campaign sending out a fundraising email touting “Impeach Biden” stickers before they were unveiled.
