Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) lashed out at Sky News reporter Martha Kelner during a press exchange Wednesday, telling the British journalist to “go back to your country” after being asked about Trump officials sharing war planning via Signal.
Greene, chairing a Department of Government Efficiency subcommittee hearing, had been accusing NPR and PBS of spreading left-wing propaganda with public funds when Kelner raised the topic of The Atlantic’s report on the Signal chat. The magazine revealed that U.S. officials, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, shared detailed plans for airstrikes in Yemen.
Interrupting Kelner’s question, Greene demanded to know her nationality. When Kelner responded she was from the U.K., Greene replied, “We don’t give a crap about your opinion… Why don’t you go back to your country?”
Greene declined to answer further questions, calling Kelner’s reporting “fake news.” When another journalist asked on Kelner’s behalf, Greene again refused, stating, “I don’t care about her network.”
This is not the first time Greene has berated a British journalist.
