Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has expressed strong disapproval over not being included in the scheduled presidential debates between Joe Biden and Donald Trump. Kennedy, running an independent campaign, criticized the exclusion on social media, suggesting that the two major candidates fear his potential victory and arguing that such exclusions are detrimental to democracy.

The Biden and Trump campaigns have both agreed to participate in debates hosted by CNN on June 27 and ABC News on September 10, bypassing the traditional Commission on Presidential Debates’ schedule. This move has raised questions about the inclusivity of the debates, especially since Kennedy has garnered comparable support to the major candidates in recent polls.

Kennedy’s campaign is actively working to meet the ballot qualifications in various states, as per CNN’s debate eligibility rules, which require a candidate to be on enough state ballots to potentially win a majority of Electoral College votes by June 20. Despite these efforts, the certification process in many states may extend into the summer, posing a challenge for his inclusion in the early debates.
