Vice President Kamala Harris is set to visit Georgia and North Carolina to assess damage caused by Hurricane Helene, just weeks before Election Day. Harris will be in Georgia on Wednesday and plans to visit North Carolina soon after, according to aides. Her team is coordinating the visits to avoid interfering with disaster relief efforts.

Originally, Harris was scheduled to join Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz on a campaign tour in Pennsylvania on Wednesday. However, Walz will now be joined by Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman. After visiting Georgia, Harris will proceed with campaign stops in Wisconsin and Michigan later in the week.

President Joe Biden will also visit North Carolina on Wednesday, surveying the damage in the Asheville area by helicopter to minimize disruption. Meanwhile, Republican nominee Donald Trump visited Georgia on Monday, where he made false claims about the federal response to the storm.
