Vice President Kamala Harris has reportedly raised an extraordinary $500 million for her presidential campaign within a month of entering the race. After President Joe Biden dropped out and endorsed her on July 21, Harris achieved a record-breaking $81 million in donations within the first 24 hours of her candidacy.

The Harris campaign, now joined by running mate Tim Walz, continues to raise funds at a rapid pace during the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago. By Tuesday, just four weeks in, Harris had raised approximately $500 million, according to a Reuters report.

The campaign’s strong fundraising, bolstered by small donations and 2 million first-time donors in July, has set a historic pace. Harris leads Donald Trump by 2.8 percent in an average of recent polls, according to FiveThirtyEight. Harris is expected to accept the Democratic nomination at the DNC this week.
