Vice President JD Vance announced he will host The Charlie Kirk Show on Monday, stepping in to honor his late friend following Kirk’s assassination last week. Vance shared the news on X, posting a photo of a microphone and notepad on his desk, writing, “Tomorrow, I will have the honor of hosting the Charlie Kirk Show. Please join me as I pay tribute to my friend.”

The program is scheduled to begin at noon and will stream on Rumble. Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed during a campus event in Utah, sparking tributes from political leaders and supporters nationwide.

Vance and Kirk’s friendship dated back to 2017, before Vance entered public office. In a eulogy posted online, Vance recalled how Kirk advised him during his 2022 Senate run, offered support to his family during the presidential transition, and engaged in candid discussions about faith.

Despite the tragedy, the show will continue, Kirk’s widow Erika confirmed Friday. The first episode following his death featured an empty chair in his memory, with a co-host remarking, “Nobody will ever fill it — nobody could ever hope to.”
