Vice President JD Vance criticized pro-Ukraine protesters gathered near his Cincinnati home on Saturday, accusing them of scaring his 3-year-old daughter.
“Today while walking my 3-year-old daughter, a group of ‘Slava Ukraini’ protesters followed us around and shouted as my daughter grew increasingly anxious and scared,” Vance posted on X.
The protest, which drew 30 to 40 people, was the second day of demonstrations near Vance’s East Walnut Hills residence, with attendees waving Ukrainian flags and anti-Trump signs. Vance said he spoke with the protesters, hoping they would leave his child alone, and most agreed.
“It was a mostly respectful conversation,” he wrote, but added, “if you’re chasing a 3-year-old as part of a political protest, you’re a st person.”**
While some passing drivers honked in support, tensions flared with Trump and Vance supporters, leading to expletive-laden exchanges. Protesters plan to return Sunday for another demonstration.
