In one of her final interviews before her death, British primatologist and environmentalist Jane Goodall joked that she would like to send certain world leaders into space, including President Donald Trump, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Elon Musk.
“There are people I don’t like. And I would like to put them on one of Musk’s spaceships and send them all off to the planet he’s sure he’s going to discover,” Goodall said during Netflix’s “Famous Last Words: Dr. Jane Goodall,” recorded earlier this year.
Goodall, who died last week at age 91, previously compared Trump’s behavior to chimpanzee dominance rituals, describing his debate style as “stamping, slapping the ground, dragging branches, throwing rocks.”
Earlier this year, President Biden awarded her the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Following her death, he and First Lady Jill Biden praised her legacy for inspiring “a global movement to protect the planet.”
