Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said Saturday that his country will not accept demands from “bullying countries”, appearing to dismiss President Donald Trump’s claim that he sent a letter seeking a nuclear deal.
While Khamenei did not mention Trump by name, his comments suggest Tehran remains defiant amid renewed U.S. pressure. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also stated that Iran has not yet received Trump’s letter.
Khamenei vowed that Iran will not cap its missile production or cut ties with regional allies, two key demands likely included in Trump’s push for a new nuclear agreement.
Speaking Friday, Trump hinted at imminent action, saying, “We are down to the final moments. We can’t let them have a nuclear weapon. Something is going to happen very soon.”
Trump’s comments follow U.S. and Israeli warnings that Iran is approaching weapons-grade uranium enrichment, fueling concerns about a potential military confrontation.
