Hunter Biden says he will not retract or apologize for comments linking first lady Melania Trump to Jeffrey Epstein, despite her attorney’s threat to sue for $1 billion. Speaking in a Thursday interview with journalist Andrew Callaghan, Biden dismissed the demand: “F— that. That’s not going to happen.”
The dispute stems from an Aug. 5 YouTube interview in which Biden claimed Epstein “introduced Melania” to President Trump and said the connections between Epstein and the Trumps were “so wide and deep.” Melania’s attorney, Alejandro Brito, called the remarks “false, defamatory, disparaging, and inflammatory,” demanding a full retraction.
Brito said Biden relied on author Michael Wolff’s disputed claims, which were published in — and later retracted by — The Daily Beast. The outlet apologized and deleted the article after receiving a legal demand from Melania’s team.
Biden accused the Trumps of trying to intimidate him and said he’d welcome a deposition to have them explain their relationship with Epstein. The Trumps have long maintained they met in 1998 through modeling agent Paolo Zampolli.
