House Republicans on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee issued a subpoena Monday to Jeffrey Epstein’s estate, seeking a wide range of records including his will, flight logs, alleged client lists, “black books,” and a birthday book reportedly compiled by Ghislaine Maxwell that includes a letter from Donald Trump when he was a private citizen.

Chairman James Comer (R-KY) said the estate has indicated willingness to comply with a subpoena, with documents due by Sept. 8. Comer also announced former Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta will appear for a transcribed interview Sept. 19 regarding the 2007 plea deal he approved for Epstein.

The committee is additionally seeking the nonprosecution agreement tied to that case and has requested written statements from former Attorneys General Alberto Gonzales, Eric Holder, and Jeff Sessions. Depositions of Bill and Hillary Clinton are scheduled for October.

Democrats on the panel, who had pushed for many of these records, welcomed the subpoenas. Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) said, “If you were involved with Jeffrey Epstein and you hurt people, you need to be held accountable.”
