Reclusive Republican megadonor Timothy Mellon donated $50 million to the pro-Trump super PAC, Make America Great Again Inc., in July, adding to two previous large donations this election cycle. Mellon, heir to the Mellon banking fortune, has now contributed $115 million to the group since the start of 2023, making him the largest donor backing Donald Trump’s candidacy.

Mellon had also given $25 million to a super PAC supporting Democrat-turned-independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. over multiple donations, the last of which was in April.

MAGA Inc.’s Federal Election Commission filing revealed Mellon’s latest donation on July 15, just days before President Joe Biden withdrew from the race and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris. Mellon’s contribution represented over 90% of the funds MAGA Inc. raised in July and will support Trump’s campaign in swing states, focusing on immigration and Harris’ prosecutorial record in a $100 million ad blitz.
