Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy’s joke about Paul Pelosi, husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, ignited social media outrage. The comment came after President Biden awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to 19 recipients, including Pelosi.
Campos-Duffy suggested other potential recipients, including Donald Trump and Elon Musk, on Jesse Watters Primetime. Co-host Pete Hegseth responded, “But it’s probably more likely to go to Paul Pelosi, Susan Rice, and [Democratic California Governor] Gavin Newsom.” Campos-Duffy retorted, “Well maybe Paul Pelosi needs the hammer instead of the medal,” referencing a 2022 incident where Paul Pelosi was attacked at home.
The joke was met with widespread condemnation on social media, with users calling it “sick,” “sickening,” and “disgusting.” Fox News has yet to comment.
