The incident occurred on the 900 block of K Street NW, where Artell Cunningham, 28, fatally shot Gill. Cunningham’s crime spree continued with further attempted and successful carjackings, leading to another victim’s death. The spree ended when Cunningham, after engaging in gunfire with police, was shot and later died in hospital.
