A Florida woman, Briana Boston, has been charged with making a threatening call to BlueCross BlueShield, referencing a phrase tied to the recent fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
Boston allegedly told the company, “Delay, deny, depose. You people are next,” echoing words carved on bullets used in Thompson’s Dec. 4 killing. Luigi Mangione, 26, has been arrested for the murder, which he linked to grievances with the healthcare industry in a manifesto.
Boston admitted to using the phrase during the recorded call, claiming she repeated it because it was widely reported in the news. While she insisted she did not own firearms or pose a danger, police viewed her statement as a deliberate threat tied to Thompson’s death.
Boston is being held in Polk County Jail on a $100,000 bond, charged with “Written Threat to Kill or Injure—Conduct a Mass Shooting or an Act of Terrorism.”
