Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi is facing a Florida Bar ethics complaint alleging “serious professional misconduct,” according to the Miami Herald and The Hill. The complaint, filed Thursday, is backed by nearly 70 law professors, attorneys, and former Florida Supreme Court justices.
The group contends that Bondi violated her ethical responsibilities and jeopardized the rule of law during her tenure as head of the Justice Department. Among the allegations, Bondi is accused of pressuring DOJ attorneys to violate professional ethics under the guise of “zealous advocacy.”
Bondi, a former Florida attorney general and the first woman to hold the office, remains listed as “in good standing” with the Florida Bar. Critics raised red flags during her confirmation process, particularly over her perceived unwillingness to resist Donald Trump, who has repeatedly claimed the “absolute right” to control DOJ operations.
