Tax filings reveal that Future Forward USA Action, a nonprofit supporting Democratic campaigns, including Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential bid, funneled over $700,000 in 2023 to firms linked to its leadership. This organization, a major source of untraceable funds for the Future Forward PAC, previously paid these same companies $1.1 million in 2022.
GCJ Research, founded by the nonprofit’s treasurer Gaurav Shirole, received $370,000, while PFB Media, co-owned by the group’s president Chauncey McLean and secretary Jon Fromowitz, took $340,000. Both firms have also collected millions from Future Forward PAC, which shares leadership with the nonprofit. Critics, including Democratic strategists, attribute Harris’s campaign loss partly to inefficient spending by Future Forward and other liberal groups.
The full scope of Future Forward’s payouts will be disclosed with its 2024 tax filings. Leaders Shirole, McLean, and Fromowitz also earned salaries exceeding $250,000 in 2023. The organization declined to comment on these revelations.
