Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) said President-elect Trump’s FBI nominee, Kash Patel, assured him he would not target Trump’s political enemies if confirmed. Speaking on ABC’s This Week, Fetterman noted Patel contradicted his earlier remarks suggesting otherwise, stating Patel insisted, “That’s not it.”
While Fetterman declined to disclose details of their off-the-record meeting, he shared insights about Patel’s background, including his family’s immigration story and experience as a public defender. Asked if he might support Patel, Fetterman said, “How much can you absorb in 30 minutes?” but emphasized he does not regret meeting with Trump’s nominees, finding value in the discussions.
