The FBI has initiated an investigation following the discovery of a suspicious hunting stand located near the landing area for President Donald Trump’s Air Force One at Palm Beach International Airport. Officials confirmed the development on Sunday.

According to FBI Director Kash Patel, the wooden structure was discovered last week during a routine security sweep conducted by the U.S. Secret Service in preparation for Trump’s return to Florida. The stand was noted to have a direct line of sight to the Air Force One landing zone.

“Prior to the President’s return to West Palm Beach, the Secret Service discovered what appeared to be an elevated hunting stand within sight line of the Air Force One landing zone,” Patel stated in a communication to Fox News. “No individuals were located at the scene.”

The investigation has now been taken over by the FBI, which has brought in forensic resources and is utilizing cellphone analytics to gather potential digital evidence. So far, officials have not indicated whether the hunting stand is linked to any specific threats.

Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi remarked that the agency is collaborating closely with the FBI and local law enforcement in Palm Beach County. He emphasized that “there was no impact to any movements, and no individuals were present or involved.”

Trump frequently travels to Palm Beach, where his Mar-a-Lago estate is located. Security measures for his visits typically include enhanced airfield surveillance and coordination with local authorities.
