NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The FBI confirmed Monday that Alexis Wilkins, the girlfriend of FBI Director Kash Patel, has been receiving a protective detail in response to what officials describe as “hundreds of credible death threats.” Wilkins, a 27-year-old country music singer based in Nashville, has been the focus of conspiracy theories, including claims she is an Israeli spy — allegations she has repeatedly denied and has taken legal action over.

According to reporting from MS NOW, members of an FBI SWAT team have been assigned to aspects of her protective coverage, an unusual move given that SWAT units typically focus on high-risk operations such as raids, terror incidents, and hostage responses. While it is common for the spouse of an FBI director to receive security, Wilkins is not married to Patel and does not live with him, making the arrangement atypical.

Patel maintains his primary residence in Las Vegas and divides his time between Nevada, Washington, D.C., and Nashville. He has faced scrutiny for using the FBI jet to fly to Wilkins’s performances, though policy requires the director to use the aircraft for all travel while reimbursing the government at commercial rates.

Patel criticized the media attention on X earlier this month, saying Wilkins has faced “disgustingly baseless attacks” and praising her as a “rock-solid conservative” and “patriot.” The FBI declined to provide further operational details, citing Wilkins’s safety.
