The Los Angeles Dodgers said Thursday they denied Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents access to their stadium parking lots. “They were denied entry to the grounds by the organization,” the team posted on X. The game against the San Diego Padres was held as scheduled.
ICE refuted the claim, calling it “false” and insisting it had no presence at the stadium. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) clarified that Customs and Border Protection (CBP) vehicles were briefly present but said the visit was “unrelated to any operation or enforcement” and “had nothing to do with the Dodgers.”
Photos of government vehicles near the stadium circulated on social media, sparking backlash during a week of anti-immigration raid protests in Los Angeles. The protests led Donald Trump to deploy National Guard and Marines, drawing criticism from state officials.
Dodgers player Kiké Hernández spoke out over the weekend against the immigration actions. According to the Los Angeles Times, the team is preparing to announce support for affected immigrant communities.
