The Democratic National Committee (DNC) announced Thursday a new campaign targeting four Republican House members—Reps. Tom Barrett (Mich.), Don Bacon (Neb.), Mike Lawler (N.Y.), and Brian Fitzpatrick (Pa.)—over their positions on Medicaid funding. The initiative aims to hold them accountable for potential budget cuts affecting low-income and disabled Americans.

The campaign, which marks the DNC’s first distributed organizing effort, includes town halls, digital outreach, and grassroots mobilization, in partnership with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). DNC Chair Ken Martin warned that Republicans would face political consequences if they back efforts to reduce Medicaid access.

DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene accused the targeted lawmakers of catering to wealthy donors at the expense of constituents’ health care. The DCCC emphasized its goal of reclaiming the House in 2026.

None of the four Republicans responded to media inquiries. The DNC said it will continue applying pressure in battleground districts as the budget debate unfolds.
