Abigail Disney, granddaughter of Walt Disney Company co-founder Roy O. Disney, announced she will stop donating to the Democratic Party unless President Biden withdraws from the 2024 race. Following Biden’s poor debate performance against former President Trump, Disney told CNBC, “I intend to stop any contributions to the party unless and until they replace Biden at the top of the ticket.” She emphasized, “Biden is a good man and has served his country admirably, but the stakes are far too high.”

A longtime Democratic donor, Disney has contributed nearly $2 million since 1992. She donated $343,460 during the 2020 election cycle, including $10,000 to the Warnock Victory Fund. Despite concerns over Biden’s performance, his campaign highlighted his achievements, with White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stating, “We understand it was a bad night…we are going to continue to do the work that we have been doing on behalf of the American people.”

Some Democrats, including Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.), have called for Biden to step aside. Disney suggested Vice President Harris could be a stronger candidate, urging Democrats to rally around her.
