The White House on Monday rejected the authenticity of a letter President Donald Trump allegedly sent to Jeffrey Epstein for his 50th birthday, after House Democrats on the Oversight Committee released an image of the note. The letter, decorated with the outline of a naked woman, concluded with the line: “may every day be a wonderful secret.”

Trump allies quickly dismissed the document as a forgery, arguing the signature did not match his known autograph. MAGA activists Charlie Kirk and Benny Johnson mocked the release online, while White House deputy chief of staff Taylor Budowich said the differences in the handwriting were proof of vindication.

Vice President J.D. Vance also criticized Democrats, saying they were not interested in Epstein’s victims but in fabricating scandals against Trump. The president has sued the Wall Street Journal over earlier reporting about his alleged entry in Epstein’s birthday book, seeking $20 billion in damages.

Analyses by both the Journal and the New York Times previously found Trump’s entry in that book resembled his handwriting style from the 1990s and 2000s. The birthday book was produced by Epstein’s estate under subpoena and included in documents released by the House Oversight Committee.
