Five congressional Democrats faced bomb threats on Thanksgiving but reported being safe and in contact with authorities. The targeted lawmakers included Sen. Chris Murphy and Reps. Jahana Hayes, Jim Himes, John Larson, and Joe Courtney, all from Connecticut.

Rep. Hayes stated she was alerted to a threatening email claiming a pipe bomb was placed in her mailbox. Authorities, including local police, state police, and U.S. Capitol Police, found no explosives during their response. Hayes emphasized gratitude for law enforcement, denouncing political violence. Other lawmakers issued similar statements, expressing thanks for their safety and wishing constituents a happy Thanksgiving.
