A coalition of former Nikki Haley voters has pledged support for Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential bid, following President Joe Biden’s announcement to withdraw from the race. Biden’s decision came after weeks of pressure from within his party and key donors, following a poor debate performance against former President Donald Trump. The political action committee (PAC), previously known as Haley Voters for Biden, now supports Harris, believing she is best suited to defeat Trump in November.
Craig Snyder, the PAC’s director, emphasized Harris’s centrist stance and her appeal to former Haley voters. Haley, who ended her campaign in March after Super Tuesday losses, has endorsed Trump, despite criticizing the Biden administration and Harris specifically. The PAC has rebranded to Haley Voters for Harris and is pushing for Harris to choose a moderate vice-presidential candidate.
