The CBS News show “60 Minutes” refuted claims made by former President Donald Trump that the network deceitfully edited an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris to portray her in a favorable light. In a statement released Sunday, the show confirmed that while a longer portion of Harris’s response to a question about the Gaza conflict aired on “Face the Nation,” the content remained consistent.
“Same question. Same answer. But a different portion of the response,” the show clarified, explaining that the Harris interview was edited for brevity in a 21-minute segment. The program also emphasized that its editing process aims to remain “clear, accurate, and on point,” regardless of the interviewee.
Trump, who withdrew from a scheduled “60 Minutes” interview, continues to criticize the show, calling it “hopelessly biased” and threatening legal action. Despite this, CBS reaffirmed its standing invitation for Trump to appear on the show to discuss national issues and the Harris interview.
