Talk show host Tucker Carlson’s latest episode has drawn sharp rebukes from several prominent Republicans he referred to as “neocons,” including Sen. Ted Cruz, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, and former National Security Adviser John Bolton. During his interview with far-right commentator Nick Fuentes, Carlson pushed back against Fuentes’ assertion that neoconservatism is largely a Jewish movement, saying the ideology also includes many Christian supporters such as Cruz, Huckabee, and Bolton.

Carlson described neoconservatism as a “brain virus” and criticized what he called “Christian Zionists,” saying he found their views offensive “as a Christian.” Huckabee responded on X, saying he was unaware Carlson “despises” him but added he’s accustomed to that sentiment “from people not familiar with the Bible or history.” Cruz defended Huckabee, calling him “a pastor and a patriot” and expressed disappointment in Carlson’s direction. Bolton, in a brief comment to the Washington Examiner, said, “I see I’m in good company.”

Carlson, who was fired from Fox News in 2023, now hosts his own show that recently featured President Donald Trump as an early guest.
