Attorney General Pam Bondi defended the Justice Department’s memo on Jeffrey Epstein during a Cabinet meeting Tuesday, addressing backlash over a video gap and renewed conspiracy claims from some on the right. The DOJ released 11 hours of footage from outside Epstein’s cell, which skips from 11:58 p.m. to midnight—sparking claims of tampering.

Bondi explained that each night’s prison video resets, causing the same minute to be missing consistently. “The video was not conclusive, but the evidence prior to it was showing he committed suicide,” she said.

She also clarified that her February statement about having a “client list” referred broadly to files connected to the Epstein investigation. The DOJ memo, released Monday, confirmed there is no such list and found no evidence Epstein was murdered, debunking long-running right-wing conspiracy theories.

Bondi, along with FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino, has faced criticism from some MAGA-aligned figures for failing to expose more damning Epstein material.
